to reduce the risk of injury at work with this simple program

In the 21st century is all the nation can not be separated from the process of industrialization. Indicators of success of the industry is very dependent on the quality of productive employment, healthy and quality. We take the example of the construction industry, which is the activity in the field, has a complex phenomenon involving the behavior and safety management. In the heavy construction industry accidents at works five times higher than manufacturing-based industries.

Construction and maintenance jobs have the nature of natural hazards. Therefore hazard problems should be placed in the first place safety and health programs. In most countries, safety in the workplace are still apprehensive. As in Indonesia, the average worker productive age (15-45 years) died caused by accidents at work. In fact safety standards in Indonesia, the worst compared with other countries in Southeast Asia.

Accidents, can not be predicted, can not be avoided so as not to be anticipated and unintended interactions. Based on the cause, the occurrence of accidents can be categorized into two, namely the direct and indirect.
The accident indirectly caused consists of environmental factors (unsafe chemicals, physical conditions and mechanical) and human factors (more than 80%).

In most cases accidents are caused by lack of knowledge and training, lack of supervision, complexity and diversity of organizational sizes, all of which affect the safety performance in the construction industry.

The workers will be depressed in the work when the time provided for planning, implementing and completing the work is limited. Human and workload and the factors in the work environment is a unity that can not be separated, which is called dynamic balance wheel.

To prevent such problem at work, there are few things that can be done so that the workers remain productive and get a guarantee of safety protection, namely:

1. The medical examination prior to employment (candidates) to determine whether prospective employees are matched with his new job, both physically and mentally.
2. Periodic health examination / test, ie to evaluate whether the underlying factors that have led to disturbances in workers
3. Education about health and safety is given to workers so that they remain continuously vigilant in the work.
4. Provision of information about regulations that apply in the workplace before they begin the task, the goal for them to cooperate.
5. Use of protection at work
6. Isolation of hazardous operations or processes, such as the mixing process hazardous chemicals, and operation of the machine that is very noisy.
7. Setting the local ventilation.
8. Substitution of more hazardous materials with materials that are less harmful or not harmful at all.
9. Procurement of general ventilation to draw air into the workspace as needed.

It can be concluded that the worker as a resource in the construction work environment must be managed properly, so as to spur high productivity. The desire to achieve high productivity should be concerned about safety, such as ensuring that workers are in safe working condition.
